Made In Montreal: Brick by Brick

Salut! Andrieu here.

I can say a lot of things about my recent trip to Montreal, but I think we should start with something short and sweet: what makes up a successful building in the island city.

After wandering for miles (kilometres, if that’s your preference) for me a success local building for Montreal has three quintessential parts:

  1. A tripartite structure (read: clear bottom, middle, and top)

  2. Uses brick in some capacity (typically for the middle section)

  3. a contrast in color between the walls of the building and the openings

Now that I’ve pointed this out to you, here are some buildings I found that fit this really well….

…and here are a few that do not, but still feel more Montreal to me than not.

In short summary, we at House Cosmopolitan do our best to quickly identify and summarize what makes a place feel like a place. If you’re looking to have that done for your home, development, or future business location, give us a ring.

We’ll bring the bricks.
